Kathrine Ballard

Founder of Children Need Families – Katherine is passionate about adoption. The adoptive mother of two from Haiti and seven biological children, Katherine desires all children to have the stability of a loving family-whether that is through a kinship placement, domestic or international adoption. Katherine and the CNF team work together to fulfill the mission of CNF and prevent further exploitation of children and youth through adoption efforts. Katherine often speaks on behalf of CNF and presents individuals and families with their grant award.

Janet Russon

Executive Director of Children Need Families – Janet has been an advocate for children in need since 1995. The adoptive mother of seven and two biological children, Janet has experienced the process of domestic adoption through foster care, kinship adoption and international adoption. Janet and the CNF team carefully consider and proactively engage in every opportunity to work with adopting families, agencies and collaborative partners. She is personally involved in the consideration of each application and applicant family, the creation of policies and procedures for CNF and the relationships of CNF grant families. Languages: English German, Spanish, French.

Michael Fairbanks

Executive Assistant to the Director – Michael works with adoption agencies, the application process and assists in the consultation of grant award decisions. He works as the front deskman for childrenneedfamilies@ourrescue.org answering questions, introducing CNF to new adoption agencies and updating CNF’s files and statistics. Growing up on the Mexico/U.S border, Michael was familiar with children lacking a proper family environment and was inspired by the charitable actions of his father to help however he could. Michael had lent his skills and compassion to the efforts of CNF to prevent exploitation through adoption. Languages: English, Spanish.

Camille Reay

Research and Development/Story Consultant – Camille assists CNF families in the collection, development and sharing of their adoption story. She takes great care in creating a sensitive and truthful narrative, reflecting the voice of the author of each story–the adoptive parent(s). She and her husband are currently in the early stages of adoption. She enjoys learning from other families and working with them, as she and her family move through the adoption process.
